509ers > You can see here where the slide originated, approximately 1,500 feet above this photo (in mid-February).
509ers > The aftermath of the slide looked much more impressive after the snow melt. Scott (middle), Russ (left) and I were one of the first to see it right after it happened. We knew it was big, but when the snow melts, you see all the carnage!
509ers > This gives you a good view of the slide path. Remember how much snow we had in mid-February? Too much for this mountain to hold on to!

509ers > We are standing where Don May and his crew groom snowmobile trails in the winter. This slide would have been horrible if it had happened during a busy weekend day or when Don’s crew was grooming. Fortunately, there weren’t any people around when this gave way!
